Level I Young Adult Rehab and Extended Alcohol and Drug Education Class
Session #1: History and Overview of Alcohol Use, Abuse, and Dependency. Discuss harmful effects of drinking and using on self and others.
Session #2: Defining the Physiological Aspects of Alcohol and how it impairs the vital organs of the Body.
Sessions #3: Video entitled: The Truth About Drinking. Very impactful video that illustrates how parents feel if their teen-age son or daughter was killed in a car accident due to drinking.
Sessions #4: Defining Raves, the dangers and consequences of attending them. Explaining the difference between high risk and low risk choices. Explain what alcohol poisoning/drug overdose looks like.
Session #5: Overview of Personal Alcohol & Drug History and the Impact on Family, Friends, Self, Society, Employment, Education, and Others.
Level II Young Adult Rehab and Extended Alcohol and Drug Education Class
Each individual will complete the four-hour class listed above AND attend a weekly one-hour alcohol/drug education class for six weeks. The six-week course will focus on thought distortions, defense mechanisms, and appropriate ways to deal with life’s problems without resorting to alcohol and drugs to alleviate the stress. Other topics may include denial patterns, cause and effect of alcohol use/abuse, addressing negative judgments, and heart empowerment strategies to name a few.
